The Allegory of Love:

36″ x 35″ x 4″

This allegory of love started with the idea of a spider monkey (passion and chaos) rummaging through a cabinet full of aphrodisiacs. Not all, but most of the containers for these objects would then be slip caste Gerber baby food jars with hand made wings applied to them to symbolize the mythological cupid. The dead sparrow couple also symbolize love ,and next to the sparrows dangle Adam and Eve roots.

Knock, Knock:

Large mixed media sculpture- clay, concrete, and wood:

89″x 36″x 10″

Knock, Knock speaks to the way that people think about animals, and what people do to animals for their own material desires. But mostly the project’s goal is the manifestation of a childhood daydream, while at the same time a satire on this type of ornamentation. I want to poke fun, while at the same time visually articulate what a lot of people may have thought about at one time or another.
